Hello world! I'm talking about using handles in Alice3 to position objects. I've started a new project with the dirt I'd like to set up a scene. Let's go back to the Biped class. I would like the witch. And I typed a couple letters from the word cauldron. I'm going to click and add the cauldron, and click and add the cauldron lid. and they're all placed pretty much on top of each other. We have four handle buttons. The default will let us move forward, backward, left and right. The cauldron is pretty big. So when I select the cauldron I'm going to see this arrow. I need my cauldron to be just a little bit smaller. Then I'm going to pick the default button and move the witch so that she's standing next to the cauldron. And here's my cauldron lid. I'm going to move the cauldron lid. Move that. I'm going to put the cauldron lid on top of the cauldron. So I need to move it up a little bit, Move it over. Maybe up a little bit more. I think the lid is a little too big, so I'm going to resize that. Move it down. It's still a little too big, isn't it? Fiddle with that to get it so that it's the right size for the cauldron. Then I'm going to rotate it and move it off to the side a little bit. Rotate it a little bit more. Using this up-arrow handle I can move it up and down. (I'm going to change my angle so you can see what happens.) That's going to sink down into the mud. And I can see now that it is too far away from the cauldron. I want it sunk down into the mud, but sort of leaning. (Maybe not sunk that much, just a little bit.) and sort of leaning against the cauldron. So, we have the default that we can use to move things left and right and forward and back, as opposed to the move button which also lets you move the witch up in the air or sink her down into the mud. Rotation can let you rotate an object left or right and also forward: put her face down in the dirt or backwards if we want her to be lying on her back. and we have the resize button which could let us change the size of the different objects.
