If you are here, on this website, then you certainly have some experience with computers. You probably use computers every day. The problem with accumulating knowledge of computers by using them is that you probably know quite a bit in some areas and little in other areas. You may know how to make great presentations, but have never created a spreadsheet. You may use social media, but don't realize that you are a prime target for identity theft. You may use your computer constantly, but rely on a friend to troubleshoot your computer. You may think that you know all about some of the topics discussed here, but your learned it 5 or 6 years ago, and things have changed a great deal in that time.
This course is an overview of the basic topics that every computer user should know. You may want to know more in some areas. Please consider this course a starting point. Do each of the lessons, but search for more information on the topics that interest you the most. There is a wealth of information on the internet.
